Summer evenings are often described as offering the very best light for photography, so what better time could there be to enjoy the exciting and varied subjects at Knowsley Safari Park! The Wild Arena ‘Summer Evening Workshop’ offers a great combination of special ‘out of hours’ access with some wonderful animals and photographic tuition from our highly experience, professional guides.
The session will start with a welcome briefing at the main Safari Park entrance where the group will be loaded into Land Rovers to begin our tour. We will begin by visiting first section to see such species as Bongo, Axis Deer, Black Buck, Nilgai, Barasingha and Brow Antler Deer.
We will again head out into the African reserve to try and capture some other safari species in evening light. We hope to see White Rhino, Baboons, Lechwe, Eland, Camel, Roan, Buffalo and other Deer and Antelope species.
The focus for these evening workshops will be looking to get into the best possible situations for photography and the guides will work hard to put everyone in right position. With the help of the keepers, off road Land Rovers and special access, we will be able to deliver opportunities simply not accessible to normal park visitors.
Photographic topics covered by the guide in this session are likely to include; coming off full auto mode, appraising exposures, using exposure compensation, working with the cameras auto focus settings, effecting the look of resulting images with picture style and using the white balance control. We will also summarize some creative thoughts on composition and story telling in images.
You are welcome to arrive at the park earlier in the day and spend time at your leisure exploring the rest of the exciting animals they have to offer.
